FEATURED SPEAKER: Sula Kim
Sula is an Emmy winning TV anchor/reporter for the 4, 6, & 10 PM newscast weekdays on WDSU. Sula and her team were recently honored with the “Best Newscast” and “Station of the Year” award by the LA Association of Broadcasters. Her many awards and experiences include journalist, reporter, commencement speaker, emcee for many charitable events, moderator for panel discussions and townhall events. In 2014, she covered the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In 2013 she hosted NBC’s Education Nation with Hoda Kotb. Some of Sula’s reporting has influenced Louisiana legislative actions. Sula’s career journey includes time in Seattle, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Green Bay. She studied communications at the University San Diego California and is from Los Angeles but is now married to a Rummel Raider and claims New Orleans as her adopted home.

FEATURED SPEAKER: Heath Allen
Heath is a reporter, anchor, news director & assignment editor recently retired after 28 years at WDSU. His reporting took him to Iraq, Kuwait, Bosnia, Honduras & Nicaragua. He won an Emmy for his documentary about Haiti’s recovery from a devastating earthquake. His documentary after he tagged along with the last Louisiana Nation Guard unit deployed to Afghanistan was also nominated for an Emmy. He reported on Hurricane Katrina as he rode it out from his own flooded home in St Bernard. The Associated Press named him Reporter of the Year twice. Heath held various jobs at TV stations in Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and at New Orleans’ WWL-TV before WDSU. Heath served three years in the Army and graduated from Northeast Louisiana with a degree in broadcast management. He is married to documentary filmmaker Jan Gross and has 7 children and 3 grandchildren. Now retired he is dedicated to his volunteer work for many great charitable causes.
